Steps

1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings > Scroll down the page and Click 'Add an exclusion'
   

For 64-bit computers (most computers)

1. Exclude the following Folders
   
1. C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Shell\*
2. *\AppData\Roaming\Windows Shell\*
2. Exclude the following Process
   
1. *\main_installer.exe
   
2. *\update_client.exe
   
3. *\ws_process_monitor_service.exe
   

For 32-bit computers

1. Exclude the following Folders
1. C:\Program Files\Windows Shell\*
   
2. *\AppData\Roaming\Windows Shell\*
2. Exclude the following Process
   
1. *\main_installer.exe
   
2. *\update_client.exe
   
3. *\ws_process_monitor_service.exe

After adding exclusions you can renable Windows Defender

1. Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Virus & threat protection settings > Turn ON Real time protection
