What is needed to root the LG Optimus L70?
This Sony device can actually be rooted using the device itself. This means that you only need the LG Optimus L70 that you wish to root in your hand, unlike other Android phones this phone can be rooted without needing a PC.
Step 1 – Enable the installation of unknown sources
Rooting the LG Optimus L70 requires the use of the towelroot rooting software. This is software that you must download and run on the phone itself. Before you can do this however you need to enable the installation of unknown sources.
On the phone itself go to Settings > Security and tap the Unknown Sources option (make sure it is checked).
Step 2 – Download PurpleDrake
Now that you have enabled the installation of unknown sources it is time to root the phone by downloading PurpleDrake. You can download it from here. Save the file to an easy to find location on your PC and extract it to its own folder.
Step 3 – Root the phone
You now need to connect the device to your PC and browse to the folder you extracted in step 2 and run the purpledrake_windows.bat file. Follow the instructions to root the device.
Once the device has been rooted you must then use the device and go to the Play Store and download and install SuperSU. Once you have done that open and run SuperSU and let it update itself if asked.
Once this has been done you should successfully have root access on the LG Optimus L70.
