How does KnowIT work?
Do I need to jailbreak my device to install KnowIT?
Yes. KnowIT requires that the device (iPhone or iPad) has been fully jailbroken before it can be installed.
What is “jailbreaking”?
“Jailbreaking” is a technical term that describes the process of allowing the iPhone or iPad to be modified in more ways than Apple originally intended.
On a jailbroken device you can modify the software to perform additional functions or get additional features that would otherwise not be available on a device that has not been jailbroken.
This includes being able to install software such as KnowIT that is not available from the Apple Store.
Jailbreaking a device will not void the warranty that comes with the device and you can simply restore the device in iTunes (losing the jailbreak) to regain the warranty status and Apple would never know it had been jailbroken.
Benefits of jailbreaking
Jailbreaking is required to install KnowIT and experience all of its features.
Can I install KnowIT and jailbreak later?
Unfortunately not. To install the software, you need to jailbreak first and then install KnowIT.
How can I tell if my device is already jailbroken?
On a jailbroken iPhone or iPad you will see an icon called Cydia.
KnowIT can hide this as part of the installation- see here.
