PREVIOUS: Using the SMS Controls menu
These features are for Mobile devices only.
This set of features includes Call Recording, Ambient Recording, Live Room Monitoring and Live Call Monitoring. Some of these features share the same settings on this page. For more help about how to use these features, click the links to our Help pages.
Live Room Monitoring is a call you place discreetly to your monitored phone, allowing you to listen live to the area immediately surrounding the phone. A Monitor Number must be entered for this feature to work.
Ambient Recording switches on the phone’s mic to record the room or surrounding environment. This feature can be initiated from the Ambient Recording tracker tile of a mobile’s device dashboard page.
Live Call Monitoring alerts you by SMS when a call is taking place on your monitored phone. You can then place a call to the monitored phone to auto-join the conversation, allowing you to discreetly listen in on the live call as it happens. The incoming call will not be seen on the monitored phone. A Monitor Number must be entered for this feature to work. Alerts for specific calls are based on settings from the Watch List.
Call Recording allows you to discreetly record calls taking place on the monitored phone, based on settings from the Watch List.
Monitor Number This is the number you must call FROM, for the purposes of Live Room Monitoring and Live Call Monitoring. When the Live Listening features are enabled and a call from the Monitor Number (only) is made to the monitored phone, it is auto-answered without ringing or any other indications of an incoming call. This allows you to listen to the room environment or discreetly join a live call in progress. You must mute your mic to avoid sounds being heard from your end.
The Monitor Number will also receive SMS text for SIM Change Notifications, and automated SMS alerting you when a call is in progress that you may live monitor on-demand. The alerts for connecting calls are based on settings from the Watch List.
A Monitor Number must be entered in the international format with plus sign (+) followed by country code and the full domestic number. For example a US monitor number (US country code 1) in the New York 212 area code would be entered as +12125551212.
Manage Watch List When Call Recording is enabled, the Watch List settings determine which phone calls are recorded between which contacts. When the Live Listening features are enabled, the Watch List settings also determine which connecting calls you will receive an SMS alert for, for the purpose of Live Call Monitoring.
If you are only interested in recording or live monitoring specific contact numbers, select the first option “Numbers in Watch List” and enter up to five numbers in “Your Watch List” to automatically record these calls and/or to receive an SMS alert when one of these calls is connecting.
Other choices include Unknown Numbers (no Caller ID), only numbers listed in the address book, and only numbers not in the address book. To record or receive SMS alerts of all connecting calls, select the three options Unknown Numbers, Number In Address Book and Number Not In Address Book.
