This guide will show you how to root the Xiaomi Mi 4 phone.

What do you need to root the Xiaomi Mi 4?
In order to root the Xiaomi Mi 4 you will need the following:
Step 1 – Download and copy the root file to the Xiaomi Mi 4
The first thing that you need to do is download the root file needed. You can get it from here. Save it your PC in an easy to find location such as the desktop. Do not extract it.
Once downloaded rename it to update.zip.
Step 2 – Root the Xiaomi Mi 4
Plug the device in to your PC and copy the update.zip file from step 1 to the device.
Once this has been done open up the Updater app on the device and choose to boot in to recovery.
When you are in recovery mode, after selecting the language, use the volume buttons to navigate and the power button to select and go to Wipe and Reset and choose Wipe Cache.
When done choose Install Zip to System One and select the Update.zip file you copied to the device.
Once done reboot the device and it should be rooted.
